The TOEIC® Listening and Reading test measures a person's ability to listen and read in English, using a variety of contexts from real-world settings. The Listening and Reading test is taken with paper and pencil and can be taken at the open test center here in Christchurch.
The TOEIC® Speaking and Writing tests measure a person's ability to speak and write in English in the workplace environment using key expressions and common, everyday vocabulary. The Speaking and Writing tests are delivered through the Internet at a test centre.
TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language
The TOEFL test measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to communicate in English in a college or university setting. Test scores are used in the admissions process at more than 6,000 academic institutions throughout the world. TOEFL is now an internet-based test (iBT)
The TOEFL iBT measures how well you read, listen, speak and write in English and use these skills together in a university setting. For example, you might read a passage or listen to a lecture, and then write or speak about what you learned.
EXCEL doesn't currently run full-time courses in either TOEIC or TOEFL due to the lack on numbers of students wanting to do these courses. However, we do have fully qualified and experienced teachers available if an individual student would like 1 to 1 lessons or a group would like a course run for a specific period of time.
