WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

Here at Excel we work with a local tour company to provide weekend trips that students can choose to join. This tour company works specifically with English language schools in Christchurch so if you go on any of the trips you will also be joining students from other language schools. A great way to meet students of many different nationalities! The weekend activities include day trips, overnight weekend trips as well as extended tours on holiday long weekends. The prices also include a full time guide, meals, accommodation, some activities and even drinks! These are not the usual bus tours!!! Below are just a few of the trips offered.

Hanmer Springs - approx. 1 & 1/2 hours from Christchurch. This small mountain village is a popular place to visit for not only tourists but also local Christchurch people. It has hot pools, mountain and bush walks, horseriding, golf and lots more to do.

Hanmer Springs

Kaikoura - located on the East Coast 2 hours north of Christchurch. Here you can go whale watching, dolphin swimming, bird watching, mountain walking, eat some Crayfish or just relax by the beach.

Kaikoura

West Coast - visit two National Parks, incredible Limestone Rock formations, a spectacular waterfall and spend the night surrounded by the rain forest. The West Coast of the South Island is a place of contrasts and has some of the most beautiful scenery NZ has on offer.

West Coast

Queenstown - is known as the 'Adventure Capital of the World". The scenery on the way south from Christchurch is diverse, the adventure activities on offer in Queenstown even more so!!!! This is a must do trip while in New Zealand. Even if not to try bungy jumping from the original site, to at least watch is sometimes enough!
